About a week ago was the 60th anniversary of the first show played under the name The Grateful Dead, because before they were the Dead, they were The Warlocks. And they weren’t alone–another band at the time was also using the name The Warlocks, and they eventually became The Velvet Underground.

So in this episode we’re asking “what’s in name?” and celebrating reinvention–bands who tried on more than one name before becoming who we know them as today.
